Here’s some good news. Empire magazine is reporting that Chris Pratt has signed up to play Star-Lord in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Of course, Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy at the end of Avengers: Endgame, so it’s not surprising that there will be (at least some) overlap in Thor’s next outing. But this confirms that at least one of the Guardians will be involved, and I think it’s safe to assume that more (hopefully all of them) will be joining the film soon.
Natalie Portman is back as Jane Foster, who will take on her own Thor personality and attendant powers, while Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie and Christian Bale joins the MCU as an unspecified villain. Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi is once again behind the camera and is likely to be performance capture suiting up as Korg.
2022 can’t come soon enough.
Christian Bale is an interesting addition, for all everyone knocks marvel movies there’s a wealth of great actors who want to play in them!

He certainly is and I will be keen to see what he ends up doing.
I have to admit that I was a bit wary of the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe concept when it started, but having seen the films — repeatedly — I think these films add up to an incredible achievement. I certainly won’t be knocking them any time soon.

I have them all on blu-ray and done most a few times, I think they’re really well done and there’s a lot more to them than the CGI everyone moans about.

I think that to moan about the CGI is to miss the point. These are a set of incredibly good genre films that absolutely achieve what they set out to achieve, and then some.
There is a lot of talent involved with these films and it shows in both the quality and the variety of the films themselves.
