I saw a video of a car where the back seat had basically exploded as a bottle of hand sanitizer had caught fire in the heat.

I heard a couple of stories like that, but haven’t seen any videos.
I can see how alcohol vapours can escape from a pump or an improperly closed bottle. But I would have thought that you still need a spark from somewhere to ignite it.

Should say. In my car it’s a good job chocolate bars don’t catch fire.

But they melt, which is almost as bad.
