Segmentation Faulty Tree in Synaptic

So here’s a good one. Synaptic crashes when you try to open it and if you try to use apt-get from a command line, it tells you you have a Segmentation Faulty Tree.

It’s caused by a corrupted package tree and is very easy to fix:

  • sudo rm /var/cache/apt/*.bin
  • sudo apt-get update
